One of the most famous treks in India is the Valley of Flowers walk. You may have heard of trekking even if you don't like it. People from all over the world come to the valley to trek, especially during the monsoon season when wildflowers of all colours bloom. You won't find these blooms growing like this anyplace else in the globe.
We think the valley deserves more recognition than only for its flowers, though. The valley is gorgeous even without the flowers. The Pushpavati River runs directly through it, and it's tucked away between huge mountains. The path goes along this river and ends at a beautiful view of a glacier. You can put your feet in cold streams and enjoy the peace and quiet. During the monsoon, every step you take is a new colour. The flowers appear like they have been well taken care of. But it's all natural.

Pickup from Haridwar and drive to Govind Ghat via Rishikesh, Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Joshimath (288 km) (10/11 hours) (1,875 m/6152 feet). Stay overnight at a hotel (transport by Tempo Travellers and Ertiga Taxi).
